Little Lane Early Learning Centre Lilydale Lakeside brings warm, nurturing and high-quality early learning to families in Lilydale and surrounding suburbs.

Located on Jarlo Drive, Lilydale, within the Lilydale Lakeside campus, our purpose-built centre provides early learning and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. The centre features eight thoughtfully designed classrooms, beautiful indoor learning spaces, landscaped outdoor play areas, nutritious meals, and play-based kindergarten programs for both 3 and 4 year old children.

Set within a unique community hub close to the Yarra Valley, Little Lane Lilydale offers children a rich early learning environment where nature, play, creativity and connection are part of each day. Families also benefit from the centre’s location alongside local community services, including Maternal and Child Health services, early childhood intervention services, a playgroup and toy library.

Our centre includes natural timber furniture, tactile rugs, teepees, sensory spaces and bright, welcoming classrooms designed to support curiosity, independence and meaningful relationships. Outdoors, children can enjoy wide-open lawns, a covered deck, shade sails, a sandpit, waterbed creek, vegetable gardens, nature play areas and access to a children’s farm.

Play-Based Kindergarten in Lilydale

Little Lane Lilydale Lakeside offers Victorian Government-approved 3 year old and 4 year old kindergarten programs.

Our kindergarten programs are play-based and designed to support each child’s learning, development and transition to school. Children are encouraged to explore language, literacy, numeracy, STEAM, art, music, movement, social connection and independence through engaging learning experiences.

School readiness is a key focus of our kindergarten program. Children are supported to build early academic foundations alongside the personal, emotional and social skills they need to feel confident as they prepare for primary school.

The centre’s natural setting also allows for rich outdoor learning, including nature play, bush kinder experiences, sustainability activities and vegetable gardening. Community incursions and excursions are also included as part of the preschool program, helping children connect with the world around them.

At Little Lane Lilydale Lakeside, our programs support children at every stage of their early learning journey.

Nursery / Infant Program

Our nursery program provides play-based long day care from 6 weeks of age. Educators create a calm, nurturing and home-like environment where babies are supported through warm relationships, gentle routines and age-appropriate learning experiences.

The program supports children’s cognitive, physical, communication, emotional and social development while respecting each child’s individual rhythm.

Toddler Program

Our toddler program encourages active, hands-on learning through nature play, sensory exploration, group experiences and everyday discovery.

Children are supported to build independence, confidence, social skills and curiosity as they begin to explore the world more actively.

Kindergarten / Preschool Program

Our kindergarten and preschool rooms provide rich, play-based programs for children preparing for school.

Learning experiences include language, literacy, numeracy, STEAM, art, music, movement, community connections and outdoor exploration. The program is designed to support the whole child, helping children grow socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively.
